We
act as an alert service if a member does not answer
their telephone when we call. When this happens, the Morning
Caller will try to locate them, perhaps at the club which
they regularly attend, if applicable. If we are unable to
locate them and verify that they are safe, the operator will
alert their nominated contact(s) who then checks on the person
and advises us of their condition. It is beneficial for the
nominated contact to be a friend or relative who stays nearby
and has keys to the house. It may be that their nominated
contact will know of their whereabouts and that there is no
cause for concern. However, if we are unable to get in contact
with any nominated contact the operator will ask the local
Police to make a visit.
If our
member has to leave the house before we are due to call,
then they must call us and let us know. This means
that we know that they are safe and we do not need to alert
their nominated contacts. There is a 24 hour answering machine
on our number, 336 7766, where a message can be picked up
by staff at the start of the day.
